Richard "Dick" J Handley
1935 - 2009
Richard "Dick" J Handley died Feb. 7, 2009, in Tucson, Arizona. He was born in Newark, Ohio on April 15 1935, to the late Jasper and Lillian (Mattingly) Handley.
A Graduate of Newark Catholic High School, Dick served his country in the U. S. Navy. Dick was retired from the Newark Post Office. After retiring he and his wife moved to Florida where he could enjoy his favorite pastime working and playing golf at the Bluffs. After 17 years there, Dick and his wife moved to Tucson, where they could be closer to their family there and do more golfing.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Connie (Cooksey) Handley; sons Monty (Bonnie) Handley, of Tucson, Richard (Debbie) Handley, of Tucson, Michael Handley, of Washington, Joseph Handley, of Newark; stepson, Charlie (Reva) Rine, of Newark; daughters, Kim Handley, of Mt. Vernon, Regina Handley, of Mt. Vernon, Susan Caristo, of Albuquerque; stepdaughters, Pam (Phil) Helms, of Newark, Tammy Crumrine, of Newark; also 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Toni (Jerry) Orr, of Georgia, and Marylee Arter, of Newark.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Bob Handley.
